Short answers to common questions.
Getting started
- Sign in with Google, or with an email and password.
- Pick a language in the lobby and join a room, or press "Create room".
- Allow the microphone when your browser asks. No microphone? You can still listen and chat.
I can't hear anyone
- Press "Enable sound" if it appears in the room controls.
- Check your device volume and that the right speakers or headphones are selected.
- Some work or school networks block voice connections. Try another network or mobile data.
People can't hear me
- Check that your microphone is not muted in the room (the mute button) or in your browser settings for this site.
- Use headphones to avoid echo.
Private messages
You can message someone when you both follow each other. Open a person in a room and press Follow. When they follow back, a "Message" button appears. A red number on "Messages" shows unread messages.
Camera, screen share, watch party, whiteboard
- Camera / Share screen: buttons in the room controls. Click a video tile to see it full screen.
- Watch together: the room owner or a co-owner pastes a YouTube link. Everyone sees it; only they control play and pause.
- Whiteboard: everyone in the room can draw. Owners can clear it.
Your messages
Press Edit or Delete under your own message. Edited messages show "edited".
Safety
- Block hides a person from you and stops their messages.
- Report sends a note to us. Use it for harassment, hate, sexual content, spam or anything unsafe.
- Room owners can mute or remove people.
- Never share passwords or financial details.
